Winter Crop

Thank you to everyone that attended my Winter Crop on January 28! I had a great time catching up with everyone - so much fun that I didn't get much scrapbooking done but that is ok! My husband Matt cooked us a great lunch and dinner, and people brought yummy snacks to share throughout the day. Here are some of the pictures that I took of the event.

Everyone that attended was able to get a copy of the Close To My Heart Spring/Summer Idea book, some free paper, raffle tickets for prizes and a small gift that I made with the Cricut.

This is a picture of everyone that attended the crop.

And this is a picture of all the CTMH Consultants that attended. So happy that our team gets bigger and bigger!

Some photos of people at their seats working.

And of course Matt working the stove for us!

Here are some of the recipes that people brought to share.

This one is from Nisha - the yummy corn dip! I took this picture after everyone attacked the dip.

 Corn and Bean Dip

2 cans shoepeg corn – rinsed  (use yellow corn if you cannot find white shoepeg)
2 cans black beans – rinsed
1 bunch scallions, thinly sliced
8 ounces crumbled feta cheese

Dressing:
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup light olive oil
¼ cup sugar
Garlic powder & pepper to taste

Mix everything together the night before EXCEPT the feta cheese.  Add the feta cheese right before serving. Make sure to drain the corn and beans well before mixing in the dressing. This dip is good to eat with Multi-Grain Scoops chips. Yum!

The other recipe is from Brette - her Protein Shake Mix Bar Recipe (from Arbonne). Unfortunately I did not take a picture of it, but it was very yummy! If you want to order any of the protein mix, contact me and I can give you Brette's information.

Protein Shake Mix Bar Recipe
Ingredients:
• 2 cups organic peanut butter
• 1 ¾ cups honey or agave nectar
• 2 ¼ cups Arbonne Essentials™ Protein Shake Mix powder* (use 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 vanilla)
• 3 cups rolled oats

Instructions:
1. Mix peanut butter and honey in a microwaveable bowl.
2. Heat for 60–90 seconds. Mix well.
3. Add Protein Shake Mix powder and mix well.
4. Add rolled oats and mix gently.
5. Spread in a 9x13 pan.
6. Refrigerate 1 hour.
7. Cut into 24 squares.

I hope you all had a great time! Not sure when I will be planning another Crop, but will definitely let you know. I am trying to find some space in the South Shore, so if you know of a good facility, let me know.
Cheers and happy scrapping!

Fall Cropping Event

I am happy to say that I held my first Cropping Event ever! I had a great time seeing old and new friends. I rented a room at Bedford Town Hall for 12 whole hours. Let's just say that when I told the people that I needed the room for that amount of time they couldn't believe that a group of ladies could sit in a room for that long working on our scrapbook projects and layouts. I guess they don't know us too well - if  we could, we would have probably be in that room till midnight or even longer!

These are the small gifts that I made for everyone that attended. I used our Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge for the container and the leaves. Inside was some candy and a small stamp set.

I had hourly prize drawings and a special prize for those that brought a snack to share. Big thank you to all that brought snacks! My husband catered the food for us (lunch and dinner). Thanks Matt! He made us yummy Taco Salad, Mac & Cheese with ham and bacon, Noodles with carrots, chicken and snow peas and chicken wings. For a special treat we also had chocolate covered strawberries.

 Some leftover strawberries

The prize table - I forgot to take a picture at the beginning of the crop. So took this picture halfway through the day.

Ladies that attended the Crop

Overall it was a great time. I got asked when the next Crop was going to be as people were leaving out the door! So let's just say the next day I called the lady to see if I could reserve the room. So....... save the date ladies, the next crop will be on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Who wants to attend???
